# Warranty and Product Guarantee
**Last updated: 1 September 2026**
## 1. About This Guarantee
Sleep Design Beds LTD is committed to supplying quality beds, mattresses, headboards, bases and related bedroom products.
This Warranty and Product Guarantee explains the additional product guarantee we provide on eligible products purchased directly from Sleep Design Beds LTD. It should be read together with our Terms of Service, Return and Refund Policy and Shipping and Collection Policy.
Nothing in this guarantee limits or removes any legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

## 3. Your Statutory Rights
Any product guarantee offered by Sleep Design Beds LTD is additional to, and does not replace, statutory rights.
Consumer customers have legal rights where goods are faulty, not as described, not of satisfactory quality or not fit for a purpose made known where the law applies.
Business, trade and wholesale customers have the contractual and legal rights that apply to their purchase. Consumer statutory rights do not apply to a business purchase in the same way.
## 4. Five-Year Product Guarantee
Unless a product page, accepted quotation, order documentation or another written agreement expressly states otherwise, eligible:
- Beds.
- Mattresses.
- Headboards.
- Bases.
are covered by a **five-year Sleep Design Beds LTD product guarantee** against manufacturing defects arising under normal and appropriate use.
The five-year guarantee is an additional commercial guarantee. It does not reduce any statutory rights available to a consumer.
Accessories are not covered by the additional five-year product guarantee unless a product page, order document or written agreement expressly states that a guarantee applies.
Where a product is supplied with a separate manufacturer guarantee or a different product-specific guarantee, the applicable period and conditions will be stated with the product or order documentation.
## 5. What the Guarantee May Cover
Subject to inspection and the terms of this guarantee, a manufacturing defect may include a fault arising from:
- The structural frame or base construction.
- Internal mattress components or spring units.
- Components supplied as part of the product.
- Workmanship.
- Stitching, fixing or assembly carried out during manufacture.
- Materials where the issue is confirmed to be the result of a manufacturing defect.
A visible issue, change in appearance or comfort concern does not automatically mean that a manufacturing defect exists. We may need to inspect the product and consider its age, condition, use, care and installation before deciding whether the guarantee applies.
## 6. What Is Not Normally Covered
The product guarantee does not normally cover:
- Normal wear and tear.
- Accidental damage.
- Damage caused by misuse, neglect, abuse or improper handling.
- Damage caused by incorrect assembly, installation, storage or maintenance.
- Damage caused by moving, dragging, lifting or transporting the product after delivery.
- Damage caused by an unsuitable bed frame, base, support system or surface.
- Damage caused by excessive loading or use outside the product's intended purpose.
- Alterations, repairs or modifications carried out without our approval.
- Damage caused by liquids, stains, burns, damp, mould, infestation or unsanitary conditions.
- Damage caused by pets.
- Damage caused by failure to follow product-care or assembly instructions.
- Normal mattress settlement, compression or body impressions that arise through ordinary use and are not the result of a manufacturing defect.
- Natural or reasonable variation in fabric colour, pile, shading, texture, pattern, grain or material appearance.
- Minor differences between samples, website images and the finished product caused by lighting, screens, fabric batches or natural material variation.
- Comfort preference, including a mattress feeling firmer or softer than expected, where there is no manufacturing defect.
- Cosmetic damage reported after delivery where the evidence shows that it occurred after risk passed to the customer.
- Commercial, contract or specialist use where the product was not sold or specified as suitable for that use.
These exclusions do not remove any statutory rights where goods are faulty, unsafe, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
## 7. Mattresses
Mattresses naturally change through use. Normal settlement of fillings, softening, compression or body impressions can occur and do not by themselves establish a manufacturing defect.
A mattress must be used on a suitable, supportive base and cared for in accordance with any instructions supplied with it.
Where a mattress claim is made, we may consider the mattress, base, support, usage, care, rotation or turning requirements and the condition of the product when assessing whether a manufacturing defect exists.
Hygiene considerations may affect how a mattress is collected, inspected or handled, but they do not remove statutory rights concerning a valid fault.
## 8. Beds, Headboards and Bases
Beds, headboards and bases must be assembled, supported and used in accordance with the supplied instructions and for their intended purpose.
Damage resulting from incorrect assembly, missing fixings, overtightening, unsuitable flooring, unauthorised modification, moving an assembled product incorrectly or using the product beyond its intended purpose may fall outside the guarantee.
Where we provided or arranged assembly and the problem results from our assembly work, we will assess the issue separately and provide any remedy required by the contract or applicable law.
## 9. Bespoke and Customised Products
A bespoke, customised or made-to-specification product may still be covered for a genuine manufacturing defect.
The fact that a product was made to a customer's chosen size, fabric, colour or configuration does not remove rights concerning faulty workmanship, incorrect manufacture or failure to meet the agreed specification.
However, preference-based issues relating to an option specifically selected by the customer are not manufacturing defects where the product was supplied correctly.
## 10. Making a Warranty Claim
To report a potential manufacturing defect, contact:
**returns@sleepdesignbeds.co.uk**
Please provide, where available:
- Your full name or business name.
- Order number or invoice number.
- Product name.
- Date of delivery.
- A clear description of the issue.
- Photographs or video showing the problem.
- A photograph of the product label.
- Photographs of the complete product and, where relevant, the bed base or support being used.
- Any other information reasonably required to investigate the claim.
Please do not dispose of, dismantle, return or arrange transport for the product unless we have confirmed the next step.
## 11. Inspection and Assessment
We may request further photographs, video, measurements or other reasonable information before deciding how to proceed.
Where necessary, we may arrange an inspection or collection of the product.
The purpose of an inspection is to determine the cause of the issue and whether it is:
- A manufacturing defect covered by this guarantee.
- A matter covered by statutory or contractual rights.
- Normal wear, settlement or material variation.
- Damage or deterioration caused by something outside the guarantee.
Requesting an inspection or evidence does not remove or delay a legal remedy where the law requires otherwise.
## 12. Remedies
Where a valid manufacturing defect is confirmed under this guarantee, the appropriate remedy will depend on the product, age, nature of the defect and circumstances.
A remedy under the additional product guarantee may include:
- Repair of the affected product or component.
- Replacement of an affected component.
- Replacement of the product.
- Another reasonable remedy agreed with the customer.
For consumer customers, the remedies available under this additional guarantee do not replace statutory remedies that may apply under consumer law.
Where return, collection, repair or replacement transport is required because of a valid defect and we are legally or contractually responsible for that transport, we will arrange or bear the reasonable necessary cost.
## 13. Replacement Products and Components
A repair or replacement provided under this guarantee does not reduce any right that cannot legally be excluded.
Where a component rather than the complete product is defective, we may replace or repair the affected component where that is an appropriate remedy.
A replacement may have reasonable differences in colour, texture or appearance where the original fabric, material or component is no longer available, but we will not make a material substitution without agreement where agreement is required.
## 14. Trade, Wholesale and Business Customers
Approved trade, wholesale and other business customers may use this guarantee for eligible products unless their accepted quotation, contract, specification or project agreement contains different written warranty terms.
For business customers:
- Consumer change-of-mind and consumer statutory remedies do not apply in the same way.
- Products must be used for the purpose and environment for which they were sold or specified.
- Contract, hotel, landlord, developer or other commercial-use products may have product-specific conditions where stated before the order is accepted.
- A bespoke, contract or project warranty agreed in writing will take priority over this general guarantee for the relevant order.
Nothing in this section excludes a business-customer right or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
## 15. Products Purchased From Another Retailer
If you purchased a Sleep Design Beds product from another retailer, your purchase contract is normally with that retailer.
Please contact the retailer first so that they can deal with your statutory or contractual claim. Where appropriate, we may work with the retailer concerning a manufacturing issue.
