This Returns & Refund Policy explains your rights and our procedures for returns, refunds, and faulty goods when purchasing from Sleep Design Beds LTD.


1. Your Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have legal rights regarding faulty, misdescribed, or unsuitable goods. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.


2. 14-Day Cancellation (Cooling-Off Period)

You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.

To exercise this right:

  • You must notify us within 14 days of delivery
  • You then have a further 14 days to return the item

3. Return Conditions (Important)

To be eligible for a return:

  • Items must be unused
  • Items must be in original packaging
  • Items must be unopened and sealed
  • Items must be in resalable condition

4. Hygiene & Non-Returnable Items

Due to hygiene regulations:

🚫 Mattresses and similar sealed products cannot be returned once opened or unsealed, unless they are faulty.

This is in line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (hygiene exemption).


5. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your item is:

  • Faulty
  • Damaged on arrival
  • Not as described

You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photo evidence (where applicable)

  • Within 30 days: You may reject the goods and receive a full refund
  • After 30 days: We may offer repair or replacement first

6. Returns Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Email us at returns@sleepdesignbeds.co.uk
  2. Wait for return approval and instructions
  3. Return the item within the allowed timeframe

⚠️ Returns sent without prior approval may be refused.


7. Return Costs

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • Original delivery charges are non-refundable

Exception:
We will cover return costs if the item is faulty or incorrect.


8. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method

We may reduce your refund if:

  • The item has been handled beyond what is necessary
  • Packaging is missing or damaged

9. Non-Returnable Situations

We may refuse returns if:

  • The product has been opened (for hygiene items like mattresses)
  • The item has been used or damaged by the customer
  • The item is not in original packaging

10. Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received a refund:

  • Check your bank account again
  • Contact your payment provider
